The Kitchen Garden Cooking Program runs throughout the school year. The grade 3/4 students have the opportunity to cook a meal each week for a term and the other grades get to plan and cook a delicious lunch for themselves and a guest.
The program focuses on incorporating fresh produce into simple and healthy meals with children preparing, cooking and presenting their menu with support from their teacher, community members and the Community Lunch facilitator; Katelyn Vercoe.
We also have an additional Cooking Program that is organised by Classroom Teachers and Education Support Staff and runs weekly for students in Grade 3 to Grade 6.
Students are introduced to a variety of hands on skills including correct food handling and hygiene processes as well as food preparation skills by cooking a simple and healthy item each week.
